RSA & RCG NSW Classes -  NSW Government does not approve online RSA or RCG training

Dress codes

Students must be well presented, clean, neat and tidy at all times when in the venues

The following are not acceptable at any time:

    • Singlets
    • Men's headwear
    • Torn or dirty clothing
    • Obscene or offensive language on clothing
    • Sportswear, including training apparel, swimwear, bike shorts, leotards, etc.

    • Scuffs, rubber thongs, masseur sandals or bare feet

      Whilst common sense shall prevail in most circumstances, the decision of venue management shall be final in all matters relating to dress and behaviour 

Centre for Training  is approved by the NSW Government Casino, Liquor & Gaming Control Authority(CLGCA) to provide the mandatory NSW OLGR approved RSA and RCG, these courses are required for anyone who works with liquor or gaming in NSW.

Workbooks are also provided at your training for your use during the training and to be returned to your trainer - we also provide  Fact sheets for quick reference for all participants to keep.
 
 

Who needs to complete the RSA course?

NSW RSA training applies to:

  • licensees;
  • approved managers;
  • staff, including promotional staff, involved in the sale, supply and service of alcohol;
  • volunteers, including club directors, who have liquor service responsibilities and
  • security officers with crowd control duties
Need a replacement RSA or RCG certificate issued?
 
If you did your NSW training with Centre for Training (CFT NSW) you can order replacement certificates from us, please click here to download the order form. This is for paper based certificates issued prior to 22 August 2011 only.

Victorian Liquor Licencing approved RSA is now compulsory for anyone who works with liquor in Victoria we offer the NSW RSA classes at Albury, after completion of an approved face to face class in NSW, you can apply to do a Victorian RSA bridging course online with the Victorian Government  https://liquor.justice.vic.gov.au/rsa_refresher/BridgingCourseApplication.aspx

State Requirements for RSA

Each state and territory have different requirements for RSA training. Centre for Training is approved to deliver the mandatory RSA course in NSW & Victoria. Students receive a Victorian or NSW Government RSA certificate and a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (SITHFAB009A) Provide responsible service of alcohol.
 
The nationally recognised Statement of Attainment is accepted as listed in the following states:

  • South Australia
  • Western Australia (Ok for staff but not supervisers)
  • Northern Territory
  • Australian Capital Territory
  • NSW - Must attend a face to face class with a NSW OLGR approved provider - We are approved.
  • Victoria - Must attend a face to face class with a Liquor Licencing Victoria approved provider - (If you are likely to need NSW & VIC RSA, we suggest you do the NSW class, then you can do complete the VIC RSA bridging course.
  • Tasmania - not accepted. You must attend a Tasmania-specific a face-to-face RSA with an approved provider in Tasmania.
  • QLD - staff must complete a QLD OLGR approved RSA (or bridging course) within 30 days of commencing employment. If you are likely to need both NSW & QLD RSA we suggest you do the NSW training first and the QLD bridging training online which is generally available for around $45)

RCG - Responsible Conduct of Gambling NSW OLGR approved

Required for anyone working in venues with gaming area in NSW pubs and clubs, including Security staff.  
 
NSW is the only state where RCG is compulsory prior to commencing work.
 
The Statment of Attainment issued for unit SITGAM006A at the successful completion of the Centre for Training NSW RCG course also meets the education requirements for employment within the gambing industry in TAS, NT and will assist in fulfilling knowledge requirements in WA.

We have trainers based in many regional areas of NSW, but please note: Training duration of RSA & RCG is 6 hours each and we cannot deliver both courses in one day.

I was surprised at how easy the RSA & RCG training was, although a lot of detail, Lynne our trainer made it very easy to understand and fun, what a character, she kept us entertained and informed at the same time...thanks Lynne, I thought it was going to be boring...
